What a ride these past few years have been! Between getting our new shop, starting different projects, creating exciting partnerships, and just growing the Faction brand and family; we have been quite the busy bunch. But don’t fret!! We are blowing off the dust from this old keyboard and bringing you back to the forefront of Faction Motorsport’s endeavors.

We started off 2017 with a bang laying claim to a brand new shop space. I know, I know it doesn’t look like much: space seems limited, the walls and floor look old, and the ceiling might just be too low for the lift….yikes!

BUT, we made it work…..

and we continued to make it work month after month after month. Justin’s MX83 was also built in this shop in what I belive was a month, during this stage.

A lot of blood sweat and tears poured into the shop’s makeover, not to mention money (that’s where most of the tears came in). We painted the floors, fit the lift in, built the work stations, set up the office space, furnished everything….the list goes on.

It wasn’t until months later, the shop started to actually look & function as a shop. Clients with drift needs and other custom builds stopped by to have our reputable Faction mechanics fix up their cars. Heck, even the old guy down the road has his oil changed with us here! 

Aside from the hard work we put into the vehicles that came in, we also spent endless nights stirring up new ways to create things you guys love. We’re happy to say, though, all of it has been worth it. Trust me, you’ll be seeing a lot more awesome stuff coming from us soon!

So now let’s get to the fun stuff: DRIFTING! 

2017 unveiled a whole lot of progression all around. Although our A group drivers are fleeting, that did not stop us from sliding sideways all year round and all over the country. One of our main focuses was to push our beginner drivers to really harness their technical skills both on and off the track. And to no surprise, our C group drivers quickly made the jump to B group and have been killing it at Club Loose! (Driver & vehicle profiles coming soon) 

We then decided it was time to buck up and hit the road. There were a lot of friends we needed to see around the country and a lot of drifting to do! Our first trip of the year was to rip it with Japan’s very own Low Style Hero Akinobu Sataukawa at Shenandoah Speedway in Virgina.

And rip it we did!

Faction’s Scott even made the trip from his new home in the Carolina’s to drift with us too. Of course in the usual Scott fashion, he sent it!

Since then, Faction was been busy busy busy – preparing for track events all summer, fixing up all the broken parts after those events, gearing up the vendor tent, coaching our drivers, finishing the shop, etc.

And then comes the big trip of 2017: Final Bout III at US Air Motorsports Raceway in Shawano, Wisconsin. The whole team PLUS Frontstreet Drift Club trailer all our vehicles over 1,000 miles to converge with teams all over the country for this event.

We met our friends from North Carolina, Michigan, and NY along the way to add to our 10 truck & trailer caravan. Needless to say, it was definitely a trip for the books. 

Overall, we closed the year with no regrets and an enthusiastic outlook to what 2018 will offer.
